My Natural Beauty Wish List 2

My Natural Beauty Wish List 2

My latest natural beauty research resulted in above list. Please read more about the products.

1. Beyond Organic Skincare Hydrating Body Oil - comprises unique blend of hemp seed oil, horse chestnut, tea tree and fennel oils. The base is prepared from macadamia oil which isn't used as such very often so I am intrigued how it feels on the skin. According to the manufacturer it is a product to firm, tone and improve venous circulation in the skin. At 15% off offer being live on the website, I am tempted.

2. Ishga Hebridean Marine Toner - a natural face toner with a fairly short but very impresive ingredient list. My urge to try this product is triggered by marine plants extracts being the main active substance. I simply love all algae in all forms as they are powerhouses of nutrition and hydration.

The full list reads as follows:
Brown Algae Seaweed -
Rind of the Lemon - Cleansing and antiseptic properties
Natural Salt Water - Healing properties
Aloe Vera - Hydrating, promoting skin renewal
Mandarin Red Essential Oil - Uplifting and soothing oil

Made in Scotland, slightly on the pricey side at £25 per 150ml - this toner may be actually what my dry skin craves for.

3. Peachykeen Organics Hand Soother - Cheshire based company uses only certified organic ingredients, I like the fact many of their products contain geranium essential oil and this hand soother is no different. I would be very happy if this product softened hardened skin (from squeezing the tennis racket) and brought  some lasting moisture.

Ingredients - shea butter, jojoba, avocado oil, lavender essential oil, geranium essential oil

4. Bloom Remedies Organic  - I put this Eye Makeup Remover Oil on my list because I have never tried anything like it before, plus I noticed my skin around my eyes could do with a remover that doesn't strip the moisture layer off. Every makeup removing session stretches my skin unnecessarily and I don't want to end up with drooping eyelids due to rubbing in products that simply don't work gently enough. Additional factor is wild rose essential oil as the key ingredient which I favour over others in my beauty regime. I wonder if this oil could fulfil my expectations. It comes in two sizes, and costs £8 per 50ml bottle and £14 per 100ml. Subscription request sent.

5. De Mamiel Salvation Body Oil - Every woman needs a little bit of luxury in life, be it in her wardrobe or  beauty products choices. De Mamiel created this oil to make my senses go curious, excited and flushed with desire to drench my skin with this nectar. Every ingredient makes me jump up on my chair as I am writing this, with new to me Baobab Oil or all time favourites like Jasmine Oil.

Have a look at these mighty plant extracts:
Coconut oil, Argan oil, Oryza sativa (rice bran) oil, Kalahari oil, Camellia oil, Rosa canina, Tocopherol Rosehip oil,  Marshmallow root oil, Baobab oil, Prickly pear oil, Grape seed oil, Evening primrose extract, Coenzyme Q10, dl-alpha-tocopherol (Co q 10),  Rosehip extract, Bergamot BF oil, Sandalwood oil, Ylang ylang oil, Grapefruit oil, Cedarwood oil, Rosewood oil, Frankincense oil, Myrrh oil, Jasmine oil.

I am so tempted, and I would have had it on its way to my bathroom if it wasn't for the price tag £65 per 200ml bottle), which I have no doubts is still worth it.

I hope you enjoyed my beauty wish list number 2, would love to hear from you if you tried any of these or if you have any recommendations.

Antipodes Nirvana Hands and Body Wash - Scientific Organic Beauty from New Zealand - Product Review

05:56 Melka 0 Comments

I have been using Nirvana exotic body wash for a week now and every time I step into the shower room I discover new qualities of this product. My choice was based on internet research only, and a few important factors lead me to a final purchase: the family size of the bottle (500ml); the natural and unique formula; the good value for money deal. I bought this shower gel at £11.99 price tag, which was a discounted value found in this online shop - click here.

The Texture and Scent:

Antipodes Nirvana Body Wash has the texture of a runny gel, when applied on a hand it ran through my fingers so extra care is needed in order not to waste any of this cleansing liquid.
The first application brought a burst of refreshing spearmint fumes - exactly what I needed after a hard uphill training session. The minty aroma is a sweet type, just like the one you get when you tear up a few fresh leaves for your salad. While lathering up this gel exploded with ever so pleasant scents of blackcurrant, reminding me of a hot summer blackcurrant season in my mum's garden. Then came the spicy cardamon with just a sprinkle of cinnamon at the very base notes. A truly comforting and uplifting  at the same time sensation.

The Ingredients:

Antipodes Nirvana is formulated using only natural extracts with some very exotic plant actives:
>Hibiscus Flower (moisturising the skin)
>Harekeke Oil - in other words New Zealand Flax (antibacterial and deeply cleansing properties)
>Kiwi Fruit and Green Tea Extract (antioxidant and protective functions)
>Avocado and Jojoba Oil (nourishing and protecting the skin)
>Cardamon (scent)

Additionally you will find a blend of well known in UK and very effective herbal extracts:
>Chamomile (soothing)
>Parsley Seed (purifying and boosting micro-circulation)
>Spearmint (scent)
>Blackcurrant (scent)

Note for the sensitive skins and strict natural beauty enthusiasts: Nirvana has sodium benzoate and  sodium hydroxymethyl glycinate on their ingredients list.

My opinion:

I am happy with how this body wash worked. It gave my skin a squeaky clean feeling with a slight tightening effect, not uncomfortable, but rather, ready for my body moisturiser. It didn't lather a lot under the shower even when I used  a bath sponge, but was enough to feel thoroughly cleansed.
It is a great aromatherapy treatment for all who need reawakening the senses after a tough day or before a long day at work.
I would recommend it to people who lead active lifestyles and who appreciate benefits brought by natural plant extracts. The smell is unisex and can be enjoyed by both men and women.
The only drawback is the controversial chemicals' existence - I would have definitely repurchased if it wasn't for those potential skin irritants.

I would love to hear of your personal recommendations when it comes to natural body washes, please leave a comment.

Next up...I have a Trilogy Face Cream Review post, coming live very soon.

Edel Weiss by Siin - anti-ageing skincare from Austria - REVIEW

17:59 Melka 0 Comments

I was kindly asked to review this new range that will soon become available in UK. The face cream and cleansing milk came in a box equipped with a leaflet that provided essential information on the key ingredients - edelweiss - the  "star" of Austrian Alps used for centuries as a healing remedy. According to the manufacturer, this skincare line is a result of extensive research and experts' practices.

I  learnt that both face cream and moisturiser contained formulas to combat ageing of the skin in the most scientifically advanced and effective way. See picture below.

Although the systems mentioned above sound very enigmatic they are explained in greater details on the leaflet. The Liposome System helps active ingredients penetrate the skin into the deeper layers where moisturising, plumping, and smoothing action takes place.

Important note for those who stray away from harsh chemicals - Edel Weiss range is free from parabens and paraffin.

EDEL WEISS Milky Cleansing:

This face cleanser has a consistency of a silky gel with a very pleasant feminine scent. It relaxed my senses on application, it smelled with a fresh rose sharpened by some exotic fruits, and softened by a velvety white edelweiss - a truly unique aromatic impression.

Key Ingredients in Milky Cleanser:

Edelweiss Extract
Precious Rose Oil
Goji Berry (Vit C, A retinol, B)
Ginseng Root Extract

As a natural beauty blogger I was a little bit disappointed to learn the formula of this cleanser contained Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Potassium Sorbate and Sodium Benzoate, if you tend to avoid these in your skincare, the range isn't for you.

I enjoyed using this cleanser, it lathered easily on contact with water, I had to repeat the process however in order to achieve a thoroughly clean skin, softened and slightly tightened. The most difficulties I experienced when trying to remove my mascara with Edelweiss cleanser, it took a little bit more effort compared to other cleansers I had used before.

EDEL WEISS 24h Essence Cream:

The ethereal aromas of this cream will appeal to all of you who love the most innocent, close to skin scents with milky warmth of wheat germ extract and freshness of juicy aloe vera.

Key ingredients in 24h Essence Cream:

Edelweiss Extract
Aloe Vera and Olive Leaf Extract
Wheat Germ Extract
Hyaluronic Acid
Jojoba Oil

I have used this cream morning and evening for two weeks and noticed the following:

> it absorbed easily and left skin softened, moisturised and relaxed
>it worked well as under make up base (didn't give me a shiny forehead effect)
>it made my skin less blemish prone
>it soothed some redness I often experience in my chin area
>it kept my skin moisturised throughout the day

Overall, I enjoyed using both cleanser and face cream, if I was to buy I'd go for the 24h Essence Cream as the formula is more natural than that of the cleanser, and I could see the noticeable difference to my skin.

Edel Weiss by Siin will be available soon in UK. Please see link www.siinlife.co.uk

HR23 HAIR RESTORATION SUPPLEMENT REVIEW

14:27 Melka 8 Comments

Supplements have always played an important part in my healthy lifestyle. I have tried numerous products from humble Vitamin C through superfoods capsules to more specific pills like joint support or additional magnesium to help with energy levels.  HR23 is one of my recent discoveries, it was offered to me to be tested to which I happily agreed. My weakened limp hair and brittle nails needed some urgent attention anyway.

HR23 is a complex supplement with a long list of ingredients which goes as follows:

Vitamin A
Vitamin C
Vitamin E
Vitamin B1
Vitamin B2
Vitamin B6
Folic Acid
Biotin
Panthotenic Acid
Zinc
Copper
Choline
Inositol
PABA (para-Aminobenzoic Acid)
L-Cysteine
Silica
MSM (naturally occuring sulphur)
Ginkgo Biloba
Saw Palmetto
Pygeum Africanum
Green Tea (40% extract)
Grape Seed (5.1% extract)

I have struggled a little to read the ingredients off the label as it is in tiny font, don't blame the manufacturer however as the list is long and crammed with major influencers when it comes to hair restoration  process.

I am a big enthusiast of ingredient rich supplements. It is obvious that vitamins, minerals or other actives work together in our systems to bring optimal benefits to certain parts of our bodies. For instance, there's no point separating iron from vit C if it won't get fully utilized without it. Therefore it is a safe bet to pick a multi way supplement.

HR23 is recommended to boost hair growth but I personally experienced many more positive reactions in my body since started taking it (7 weeks). Also, to make my test fair and more reliable I stopped taking all other supplements (fish oil and magnesium) and took two capsules of HR23 a day with food for better absorbtion.

My observations
  1.  I noticed less hairs falling out when brushing my hair (within 3 weeks of taking)
  2.  My nails strengthened significantly and they grow at faster pace now (had very brittle and mechanical damage prone nails before)
  3. My hair seem to have more shine and and it is more resilient to knotting
  4.  My energy levels increased and physical fatigue is almost non existent (PABA and Biotin, complex of vitamin B)
  5.  I noticed less blemishes on my complexion over the course of the last month (even though I eat chocolate)
  6.  HR23 helped me stay more productive even if I have to do my creative work late night (Gingko Biloba, Green Tea)
  7.  My skin started feeling softer and silkier to the touch which must be thanks to Grape Seed Extract, Silica, Zinc, Vitamin C
I have tested different hair, nails and skin supplements but none of them gave me noticeable results. With HR23 I only need to look at my hands and nails to see the results within relatively short space of time.

The oblong shaped pills themselves are rather large but very easy to swallow. The information on the label is clear and says it all in one phrase "Hair Food Supplement" - 23 essential additives. Of course you can go and try one ingredient hair support supplement but why take five or six different pills if you have a multivitamin, skin, hair, nails, detox, brain, energy and anti-ageing supplement - ALL IN ONE -  I am coming back for more, from this supplier - YourNextRemedy

ARABELLE SKINSENSE - NATURAL BODY OILS REVIEWED - Part 3

04:54 Melka 0 Comments

Last two weeks were all about early get ups, busy days with many tasks to organize and execute. I needed to be focused and energized and... without my all natural skincare routines it would have been so much harder to get through tough times. Arabelle Skinsense Body Stimulate and Invigorate Oils came to rescue in the mornings, because:
-they were easily absorbed by the skin and don't leave the greasy residue
-their moisturising and nourishing effects lasted for long hours
-they are packed with natural essential oils that stimulated and uplifted my senses
-they scented my skin naturally with no overwhelming effect

Stimulate Body Oil - a divine blend of Rosemary, Pine, Basil, Sweet Orange, Bergamot and Patchouli made me feel very much awake in the mornings by improving micro-circulation under my skin. Ever so delicate warming effect (thanks to Rosemary and Pine Essential Oil I believe) was an absolute treat to experience and, what's really fantastic, not for a moment did it slow down  my body and mind, quite opposite rather, it pushed me to action whilst still relaxing my senses - remarkable effect. Good for all us who want to be very productive throughout the course of our day. My impression of the fragrance is woody yet fresh and vibrant, it reminds me of coniferous tree bark scent sprinkled with a morning dew.

Invigorate Body Oil - this oil has an unique "kickass" effect with its Rosemary, Grapefruit, Petitgrain, Bergamot and Coriander Essential Oils. Sweet Orange and Rosewood contribute to a more sensual and warmer base notes. It is a very unique citrusy oil - it will not make you feel like you have just squeezed ten fruits on your skin, it will actually provide you with this tender sweet and exotic sensation, but without the tangy upshots. Perfect if you are looking for a  feminine version of a citrusy oil. I used it usually after my afternoon shower and it set me for a few more hours of creative work in the evening. It is a matter of personal preference though so don't blame me if it puts you into an action packed mood between the sheets and other things don't get done. You've been warned.

If I was to choose...

It's a tough task having to choose between these two Arabelle Body Oils. As I emphasised in previous parts of this post, (see here) Arabelle Oils are dense in nutritious plant extracts that care for your skin and prolong its youthful, firm and toned look. This benefit comes with which ever oil you'd wish to use. I am more attracted to the Stimulate Body Oil as it ticks all the boxes for me - and I just love this musky lingering aroma of Patchouli on my skin. No other expensive perfume needed.

Also, thumbs up for making the full size bottles with dosing pump, practical, fuss free and reduces the chance of your precious oil being splashed on the floor.

I hope you enjoyed reading about my experience with Arabelle Body Oils, next up I will be sharing my thoughts on HR23 hair restoration supplement, tried, tested and review is on its way.

Summer Training

17:39 Melka 0 Comments

Every woman wants to look stylish and unique even during a workout. Now that warmer days are here to settle for longer - as they do - have a glimpse on my outfit ideas to enjoy sunshine while exercising.

I decided to go top to toe Nike in this proposition, including bags. You wouldn't normally associate this brand with the expression "stylish", in this case we are talking "stylish for sports".
The key garment - shorts - are the absolute staple to create this modern and very feminine look. Another important factor is crop top/sports bra worn underneath a tank top. Coordinating the colours of your crop top with your outer piece will make you look effortlessly chic - in sporty world. The third key point of this outfit will be the trainers, depending on what sport you are planning to take part in, go for bold colours, preferably contrasting with your clothes, that's an old rule to draw your attention to get those feet moving faster, not to mention the show stopping impact. The stripes and patterns trend seems to be proving very popular amongst fitness junkies hence my picks. All shades of steel grey, slate or graphite will accompany your summery look perfectly as long as you add a touch of colour - I recommend berry or plum mixed with blue, like on a picture below, or coral pinks with lime trainers,  see the second picture.
If you need to layer your gear more, add a lightweight jacket in white or silvery off-white to keep warm on breezy mornings.
Enjoy and get inspired to workout
