Thea Organic Enriched Skincare REVIEW

15:04 Melka 0 Comments

Skin's needs change as time passes by and in order to find optimum protection and  nourishment you need to be open to try new products. I got this opportunity as Thea Organic Enriched Skincare kindly sent me a few samples of their face and body formulations for testing.

I have enjoyed applying Age Revival Uplifting Face Creme every morning for the last ten days. The cream has a texture of light lotion, it absorbs quickly and immediately makes the skin feel more comfortable, and replenished with essential moisture levels. I used it under my make up, was really happy with the effect of subtle glow and fresh  look of my skin. I think Thea Uplifting Creme together with Super Nourish Nutrition Face Creme made my forehead's fine lines less visible, could this be possible after such short period of time?

I am also intrigued by the ingredients used with Aloe Vera Juice, Coconut Oil,  and Rooibos Tea as key players plus Sweet Basil, Lavender and Fresh Ginger Essential Oils to rebalance and boost circulation at cellular level. If I was to pick on something, I'd have to mention that I wasn't keen on the scent of Age Revival Cream. It hasn't put me off from using the cream though, so I reckon this can be forgiven.

Super Nourish Nutrition Creme has been used every evening over the past days, rewarding me with perfectly soothed skin on application, and a soft, moisturised complexion free from breakouts or irritations the next morning.

Rich in high performing  ingredients such as Rose Absolute, Pomegranate Extract, Hyaluronic Acid together with  Organic Rooibos, Organic Coconut Oil and Aloe Vera Juice this product targets effects of dehydration and premature ageing.

I must admit I didn't expect my skin adjusting to new face care formulas in such a short space of time - both thumbs up to Thea for creating  gentle creams that bring results.

To sum up, both creams prove to be doing a lot of good to my skin, apart from unappealing scent I am very happy with the results and will continue exploring Thea as the brand has got a wide range of products available - SHOP HERE

Natural Body Oils for Athletes

11:42 Melka 0 Comments

If you do sports, there's no better way to care for your skin than using natural body oils. I have chosen four natural formulations that in my opinion can provide the best muscle recovery, skin protection and aromatherapy benefits.

My picks are:

1. Ishga Invigorating Body Oil - this oil is a true re-energiser and it picks you up after even the hardest workout. I love using it as it contains unique Scottish seaweed extract that stimulates the skin to self-repair and boosts blood circulation that can be felt in deeper layers of the skin. This  unusual yet balanced blend of citrusy notes like Lemon Grass  and more sensual Geranium Rose makes the whole moisturising experience so much more pleasurable.

2. Weleda Arnica Massage Oil -  recommended to prepare muscles for high intensity action by warming them up with its special blend of Arnica Flowers, Birch Leaves Extracts and Rosemary Essential Oil. Formulated to be used as a massage oil for when your body feels pushed over the limits.

Natural Body Oils for Athletes

3. de Mamiel Slavation Body Oil - the ultimate liquid gem of super potent oils like Baobab, Argan, Coconut, Camellia and Rosehip would be a perfect rescue for all the athletes that  need to regain their focus. I'd be using it the night before a hard training or a tough match to feel calm and collected thanks to sensual Jasmine, Sandalwood and Ylang Ylang Essential Oils.

4. Aromatherapy Associates De-stress Massage and Body Oil - hard working  personal "physiotherapist" in a bottle,  not only does it target muscle aches but also it relieves joint stiffness and brings anti-inflammatory effect to the areas treated. It warms the body by aiding healthy blood flow not to mention skin nourishing benefits. Hero ingredients - Coconut Oil, Cajuput Oil, Ginger Root and Pine Leaf Oil.

Buffmonger - locally made soaps - REVIEW

04:07 Melka 0 Comments

Walking along the vibrant high street of my neighbourhood led me to a beauty salon in the making called Yemanja Therapy where I discovered soap making brand - Buffmonger.

They are based in Swanage, Dorset, and have a range of products on offer, from soap bars, body lotions, hair shampoos to problematic skin remedies. I got a chance to test two soap bars, read on to find out more...

Anti-Allergy English Rose Soap

A delicate scent of Roses and soft texture was something that I liked the most about this product. It lathered easily and removed impurities effectively, I tried it on my face and noticed that it makes my skin dry so just continued to use it on my body.

Overall, this product is cruelty free beauty product suitable for vegans, contains natural English Rose Buds Extract and would be a good choice for someone who cares about the carbon footprint and likes to buy local products.

I am a bit disappointed with the ingredients though as Sodium Laureth Sulphate and tetrasodium EDTA are listed on the information label. Read about those controversial substances here SLS AND EDTA and decide whether you'd rather avoid them in your beauty regime.

English Lavender Soap

The formula of this soap is similar to the one described above, with potential skin irritants on the ingredient list. On the good note, this product is packed full of natural Lavender and Lavender Flowers. You'll enjoy intense aroma of this mind and soul soothing natural scent. The soap cleanses by lathering softly and doesn't dry the skin to the extent the English Rose bar did.

I hope you found this brief review helpful, many more exciting are lined up to be tested, stay in touch, comment, recommend or advise in the space provided below.

August Natural Beauty Discoveries

07:37 Melka 2 Comments

Let me introduce you to my latest natural beauty finds as they are absolutely spot on for hot summer season we have now.

August Natural Beauty Discoveries

1. Acorelle Eau de Parfum Absolu Tiare - Natural perfumes are either very expensive or evaporate from the skin too quickly. My hopes for a perfect fragrance lie in this beautifully designed bottle by Acorelle. The formula contains no phthalates, artificial colours, artificial musk or synthetic chemicals. I chose to feature the Absolu Tiare scent as it reflects on sunny scents of nature like orange, bergamot and yang yang essential oils.

2. Suti Rose Water Organic Facial Spritz - I just simply can't go without roses in my summer beauty regime and Suti's uplifting toner is a dream come true. It is made from organic roses that protect and soothe the skin, what's more, it is to bring lasting joy to those who use it. The philosophy behind this product is an ultimate description of summer season powers:

"... it encourages joy and happiness, relieves sadness and grief and opens the heart to receive love."

3. Munio Candela Summer Nights Soy Wax Candle - this GM free and vegan candle is a creation to assist you  with  balmy, summer nights that need a touch of dim natural light for that unforgettable romance to spark up and  to reveal its lasting potential. It is scented with vanilla natural essential oil and with 30 hours burning time and half price tag at MyPure have a guess what will soon land in my shopping basket.

4. I mentioned romance in the above paragraph and here I have discovered another super natural product to help you reach maximum satisfaction when that romance evolves into unadulterated desire - Yes Lube - I like this brand for their variety of products from water based lubricants to oil based ones, they also have fertility friendly products available. What a great idea to formulate this natural range for the most sensitive areas of our bodies, I am full of admiration. Keep it going.

5. and 6.   MooGoo products have put an end to my relentless search for the perfect sun protection potions not just because Miss Moo is the face of the brand. MooGoo Anti-ageing SPF 15 Face Cream and Cover-up Buttercup are packed full of natural ingredients with my personal favourite Green Tea, Squalane and Red Rasberry Seed Oil Extracts. I absolutely love browsing through MooGoo website itself as it  is treasure box with information that explains a lot about how sun protection filters work and why we should do our own in depth research before buying, that's of course if we care what we dab on our skin.
Both MooGoo Face SPF15 Cream and Cover-up Buttercup are based on similar formula that comprises zinc particles as their main sun protective components.

Did you know?

MooGoo is arguably the first brand that created their own naturally derived preservative made from Hops (Humulus Lupulus Extract). It works just like the parabens and phenoxyethanol in not so natural skincare, it keeps bacteria at bay and gives the products longer shelf life - the brilliantly natural way.
