Summer Essentials - AA Skincare Natural Deodorants REVIEW

09:54 Melka 0 Comments

Looking for an effective  natural deodorant has left me frustrated and baffled in the past. Reading Glamour's Ten Best Natural Deodorants and discovering the likes of Clarins surely must cast a shadow of doubt on any beauty authoritative word. Yes, there is an option from leading natural brands offering the alcohol free, naturally scented deodorants but the price tag makes you reconsider back to basics grey soap refreshments by the river  rather than splash so much money just to look after your armpits.

A few searches later, I discovered AA Essentials Skincare and their range of natural roll-on deodorants. I was kindly sent the beautifully branded trio to put under the strict test of everyday demands my body goes through. Priced at £4.94 it is an instantly refreshing bonus having to pay less than a third of what other manufacturers ask for.

AA Essentials Skincare Deodorants are formulated to offer a natural alternative to mass produced deodorants, often containing a number of harsh toxins. Free from aluminium salts, alcohol and artificial fragrance the effectiveness of these deodorants is based on pure essential oils and unique Fungi Ferment. that neutralises the body odour by creating the nitrogen compounds in the process of perspiration. Packaged in handy roll-on glass containers, these deodorants have managed to get me seriously excited and even more eager to start testing. Here's how they did.

AA SKINCARE ESSENTIALS GRAPEFRUIT & CEDARWOOD DEODORANT

This deodorant is recommended for men but because of its, in my opinion, unisex fresh and woody natural aroma, I decided to test it during one of my punishing tennis practices. It did take a split second longer to dry completely but once it did, my armpits felt comfortably protected, delicately scented and ready for some on court action. I usually play for at least three hours, ending drenched in sweat and it was no different this time, apart from the fact, that I stayed odour free, with my armpits significantly dryer compared to previous times, when I used a regular spray deodorant. I liked it and continually use it on my training days with pure satisfaction.

AA SKINCARE ESSENTIALS LEMONGRASS & LAVENDER DEODORANT

With similar effect to the one above, this Lemongrass & Lavender Deo Roll-On has won my applause thanks to its aromatic composition. I loved the sweet and creamy yet fresh scent which lingered on my skin for much longer compared to the Grapefruit & Cedarwood type. I have used it pretty much every morning since it arrived and can definitely consider this deodorant as part of my everyday essential skincare kit.

AA SKINCARE ESSENTIALS BERGAMOT & ALOE DEODORANT

Formulated to offer odour protection with minimal risk of skin irritation, this Bergamot & Aloe deodorant is no different to its variations mentioned above in terms of effectiveness, time taken to dry and ease of application. It will benefit extra sensitive skin, as the essential oil content has been kept to minimum without compromising on the overall quality of the product. It will appeal to anyone looking for the most gentle skincare solutions.

Worn out Sole, Empowered Soul - Why we want to see a photo of your destroyed trainers.

05:02 Melka 0 Comments

How are you going to spend your weekend? The forecasters promised some sun and hopefully some consistent summer weather settling here so a lot of outdoors enthusiasts will flock out to get that heart rate pumping enjoyably faster. You will certainly see all year round athletes really upping their game as well and it is my appeal to them to get involved in my rather peculiar project.

LET'S HAVE SOME FUN PINNING
A while ago I have started a Pinterest Board called "Worn Out Sole, Empowered Soul". See HERE. It refers to the impact physical activity has on our general wellbeing. The more you exercise the better the quality of your life in all areas. Full stop. Some people need constant motivation, some don't, they need some form of recognition instead. In my odd way, I would like to give the most committed athletes out there a chance to show their dedication. In what way? Very simply, pin a photo of your trainers, that show some signs of rage, mention the sport, activity you used your shoes for, share it on Twitter with a hashtag #WornOutSoleEmpoweredSoul and treat it like a real trophy, in other words, show it off with pride of a winner.

So, if you feel this is you and that you have just slaughtered a pair of trainers, get involved. We are hoping for some sports' stars to share their empowering master pieces too. I will start running an official competition once I have enough pins from you. The prizes to be confirmed. Let's begin a social media campaign to recognise those sporting individuals who have always been an example of commitment, charisma and fighting spirit. YOU.

19:24 Melka 3 Comments

Desperately hoping for the summer to finally settle under our latitude we have gone and searched for products that are becoming more and more in demand due to their wonderful properties - natural facial toners. Whereas you must have used a toner before, to balance your skin's ph levels to its natural measures of 5.5 as quickly as possible after main cleansing, the toners we are covering in this edit have way more to offer. Take a look at our selection of exciting botanical waters from around the world..

 1. NILLY+BOOTH from Australia offers an Organic Face Tonic and we love the unique botanical constituents that make this blissful remedy. Detoxifying Rooibos, disinfectant Black Willow Bark, revitalising Gotu Kola, purifying Apple and Kiwi Extracts blended into a base of Tea Tree, Lemon Myrtle, Witch Hazel and Sandalwood hydrosols pack a punch of skin balancing and protecting qualities. Recommended to use after cleansing or as a refreshing skin energiser, Nilly+Booth is sure to become your little secret to a beautifully glowing complexion. Read more HERE

Interesting fact:
Behind Nilly+Booth stands Sharn who decided to forgo her career in psychology and become a natural skincare creator after a major existential crisis had entered her life and pushed her to chase after what she wanted to do. Inspirational.

2. If you are a city girl or have difficulties finding a beauty product that would protect your skin from harsh elements effectively, then you need to check Orico Coco Spritz from London. It is a part of Streetwise line that specifically targets the skincare needs of urban living. Having recognised the hazards of pollution, stress, central heating or air conditioning Orico came up with a brilliant protective facial toner - Coco Spritz. With its pure formula of Coconut Water, Cocoa Seed and Extracts of Mango and Papaya, this multitasking mist restores the skin's natural radiance whilst deeply purifying, hydrating, nourishing, and boosting micro circulation. Exotic blend indeed. Read more about Orico Streetwise Coco Spritz HERE

3. Our next pick is New York's Marble and Milkweed and their limited edition of a Spring Facial Toner Mist. It is suitable for even the most sensitive skin and combines the natural goodness of Wild Yarrow and Rose Geranium Essences. One of the purest products available, it offers highly moisturising and balancing benefits. If you are very strict about your natural skincare  choices, then Marble and Milkweed should be your brand . For more information follow the link  HERE

4. Luxsit is a truly exciting discovery from Sweden. Using a cutting edge technology it connects the modern world with its roots - The Nature. Potent Nordic botanical extracts are diluted in pure Swedish water to deliver hydrating and wrinkle fighting Facial Mist.  With Birch Sap and Oat beta glucan this spritz functions on a multiple level restoring the moisture levels, smoothing fine lines and reducing irritations or redness. Interesting facts:
Luxsit is a Latin expression for "Let there be light".
Study shows that the most nutrients dense botanical extracts come from plants of regions with harsh weather conditions such as wet spring, windy autumn or dry and hot summer.

Fushi Really Good Cellulite Oil - REVIEW

20:18 Melka 1 Comments

Isn't it about time for us to really decide on our pre-summer action plan and make  our beauty goals a stroll in the park? I got my efforts simplified and luxed up by Fushi Wellbeing who kindly sent me one of their body oils to try.
Despite the fact that I am a big fan of Fushi online store and that I love oil based skincare, my testing process is never an easy one for a beauty product to achieve a top mark pass. The most important criterion is always the formula itself, followed by first impressions, the design of labels and packaging and finally long term results. These are the main points I have taken under consideration and here are the details.

The Formula
Fushi Really Good Cellulite Oil is blended with a specific result: to reduce the visible signs of orange peel skin in women. As there are many myths in terms of causes and treatments of cellulite, without gong into great details, I would like to state my approach to this subject and the  best bet to fight cellulite.
To have a healthy skin, one need to exercise, eat nutrients rich foods and use quality skincare. These factors should be like three commands etched in stone for any woman respecting her beauty. What's the point in using expensive body cream if you sabotage your efforts with junk food diet or lack of physical activity. It makes a perfect sense to, as I call it,  MULTI CARE for your skin with equal attention to each of the factors.
That's where Fushi Wellbeing Body Oil must be mentioned. This potent formula of triple infused Gotu Kola  and Green Coffee Bean Oil fast tracks the whole cellulite fighting project to a very desirable finale. As it is like a new lease of life to oxygen deprived skin, by stimulating micro-circulation and supporting lymphatic drainage, these plant actives support skin's natural functions and bring it back to its smooth and toned state. Rich in essential fatty acids Hazelnut and Wheatgerm Oils are added for ultra nourishing and firming benefits. Addition of  Grapefruit Extract and Sweet Birch boosts the firming action even more making Fushi's Really Good Cellulite Oil a really good toning oil too. I like every ingredient that makes this blend.

First Impression
On the first application I was stunned by two things: The immediate smooth and silky feel to my skin and a pleasant natural scent which I'd categorise as a very well balanced amalgamate of citrusy sweet, balmy and herbal notes. What's more, it did make me a little addicted to it, awaiting the next application impatiently. The oil absorbed into my skin so quickly leaving nothing but a very soft, smooth skin. I had no problems putting my clothes on immediately after my treatment too. A  very positive first impression.

The Design
Fushi Really Good Cellulite Oil comes in a light green glass bottle which looks pretty sleek. It has got a contemporary luxurious feel to it and it makes you want a collection of Fushi oils available on a bathroom shelf. Clean labels compliment the product itself perfectly. The main information on the product can be found at the front of the label whereas at the back you can find more details in terms of properties, ingredients and variety of badges.

The Results
I have used Fushi Really Good Oil for three weeks. I have gone through the whole bottle within that time using the oil once a day, everyday. I really enjoyed the treatment especially after noticing my skin gained a super silky lasting feel to it. Not only that, the texture of my skin also appeared different, as if denser and stronger. The main advantage for me was that it just made my skin much healthier looking, I would recommend it to anyone who needs a hard working, skin firming product who is also ready to commit to an overall healthier lifestyle.  If I was asked by someone if Fushi Body Oil worked, I would answer - ABSOLUTELY! Moreover, this product is free from preservatives, parabens, petrochemicals, PEGs and other ingredients that have the aura of controversy in regards to their safety. What a formula, what a brand.
